Hamburg, Germany

The entire Tortue Hamburg building complex - led by architects David Chipperfield and Stephen Williams and located between Neuer Wall and Große Bleichen - is at the forefront of the ongoing restoration and redevelopment of the Stadthöfe. Here you'll find a neighborhood on the move and on the upswing. But even as the neighborhood rapidly evolves, it also offers old-world experiences. In addition to luxury brand-name stores and restaurants right in the neighborhood, there are numerous attractions such as HafenCity, museums, City Hall, and more within walking distance of the hotel.

The Tortue's historic building features high ceilings and two newly constructed floors that house suites and a terrace.
Built in 1888 as the city's Ministry of State, the Tortue Hambrug has taken the Stadthöfe district by storm. Visitors come for the masterful French-inspired restoration and the views of St. Michael's Church and the harbor from the rooftops, but they venture into Stadthöfe to discover five individual houses connected by four courtyards that form a new neighborhood right next to the historic Fleet Canal.
