Minos Beach Art Hotel Crete

A magnificent cluster of waterfront bungalows and gardens stretches for 2.5 kilometers of coastline, allowing you to get to know the island like the locals, experience an abundance of art in its many forms, and feast on authentic Cretan food and wine.

Artworks inspired by nature and the island's heritage were created specifically for the hotel and its garden.
Much of the G. & A. Mamidakis Foundation art collection is housed in the hotel and its Open Art Air Museum, while muted colors, tactile fabrics, natural wood, and occasional artifacts from a bygone era keep things minimalist inside and out. Sound and nature also play an important role in the design, with the splashing of water soothing the mind and a lone piano inviting passersby to be creative.

A landscape of sand, rocks, greenery and trees is dotted with whitewashed bungalows, villas and terraces overlooking the sea.
The architects drew inspiration from the traditional architectural style of the fishing villages in eastern Crete that surround the hotel, and wanted Minos to be in physical and conceptual harmony with the island. The low-rise villas and bungalows do not distract the eye from the natural horizons, which are composed of the sea, the beaches and the inland hills. All together form the first real luxury hotel in Crete.

Award-winning chef Giannis Baxevanis directs the culinary program, drawing on a handful of trusted local suppliers.
Much of the produce used in the three restaurants, four bars and kafenio (traditional café) comes from trusted local suppliers in and around Agios Nicolaos, including most of the wines sourced from vineyards and wineries in the region. Guests have a wealth of options for great Greek and Cretan cuisine and inspiring drinks, from a poolside bar or seaside wine bar to al fresco dining and more formal fine dining at La Bouillabaisse.
